Worried about buying a SimXPro keyboard tray with cosmetic damage? We explain what that means for function and value, so you can shop with confidence.
Quick Answer
Cosmetic damage on a SimXPro keyboard tray does not affect its function. These sale units are reduced in price because they may have minor cosmetic imperfections, but the product remains fully usable.
What Counts as Cosmetic Damage?
When you see 'minor cosmetic damage possible' on a SimXPro keyboard tray, it refers to things like small scratches, paint chips, marks, or finish imperfections. These are the kinds of blemishes that can happen during transport or handling, and they are purely visual.
The key point is that these imperfections do not affect how the tray mounts, slides, or holds your keyboard. The structural integrity and function are unchanged.
The Value of a Cosmetic-Damage Unit
Because these units are sold at a reduced price, you get the same functional product for less. The trade-off is that you might see a scratch or chip that a full-price unit wouldn't have. If you are building a sim rig and care more about performance than a perfect finish, this is a straightforward way to save money.
It's also worth noting that some units may have no visible damage at all. The discount is based on the possibility of imperfections, not a guarantee.
Verdicts on Common Concerns
- Is the tray still functional?: Yes. Cosmetic damage does not affect the tray's ability to mount and hold your keyboard. The product remains fully usable.
- Will I definitely see damage?: No. Some units may have no visible damage at all. The discount is based on the possibility of imperfections, not a guarantee. If a flawless finish is a must, a full-price unit may be better for you.
